Why is it called "New Growth" Psychotherapy?

HOPE & RESILIENCE.

After a forest fire, you see new growth trees and plants emerging from the blackened earth, and it can represent hope, resilience, and life after devastation. In our lives, we can experience so much devastation, loss and trauma, and within all of that pain and hardship, we can still work towards hope and healing.

OUR BRAINS.

Our brains are constantly wiring and rewiring various neural connections that can help create habits, thought patterns, behaviours and responses. Often times, in both our brains and in psychotherapy, growing and making new connections (thereby weakening old ones) can help create lasting change in our lives.

CAPABLE OF CHANGE.

Many natural things in our world are capable of growth and change, including humans. We sometimes forget that we are natural things in this world too! That means that all humans are capable of growth, healing, and change. Psychotherapy can help facilitate and guide pathways for this natural capability of growth to flourish.
