The College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) defines supervision as a process in which a supervisor helps guide a supervisee through their therapeutic treatment with a client, the therapeutic relationship, monitor the well-fare of the client, explore safe and effective use of self, and facilitate professional development.
The CRPO requires most, if not all, Registered Psychotherapists to obtain more supervision hours post-graduation, but supervision/consultation can also be part of professional development, growth as a clinician, and overall support.
I completed my supervision training through the University of Ottawa (Foundations of Clinical Supervision), and meet the CRPO criteria of being a Clinical Supervisor. I offer individual supervision to Ontario Psychotherapists in a virtual context.
